Meet our subject manager at Kristiania Professional College 

Amateur knitter and sports enthusiast, Aranya Pascale Rusli, is a trained decorator and art director from Westerdals. She has 14 years of practical experience from the advertising industry. In this interview, she tells the story of her everyday life at Kristiania Professional College

What opportunities for personal and career development have you had as an employee?  

– I have had the opportunity to develop educationally. I completed a programme in educational theory and practice between 2016 and 2018 and I am now halfway through completing a Master’s programme in vocational education. My career started at the Professional College as a part-time teacher on the Advertising and Branding programme before I became a head teacher and now subject manager for the programme.

How would you describe the corporate culture?  

– I find it motivating to meet so many people committed to students’ learning, teaching and practical training. Kristiania Professional College has grown a lot in just a few years. We are developing, things are happening quickly and we have learned a lot during the pandemic. There is a focus on vocational studies and creativity and this is something that we have seen reflected in our admissions. We have never before discussed subjects, educational theory and didactics as much as we have this year. Fortunately, we have been able to maintain our strong contacts with the industry, which has provided us with excellent support and our students with enjoyable and relevant study tasks.  

  How do you find the balance between work and free time?   

– The balance can sometimes be delicate. Learning is a process and for students it doesn’t always take place in the classroom. Being a teacher and committed to your students means that available time and workload do not always go hand in hand. I have a job that I love and I develop as a person from spending time with my students.   

As an employee, what will you find at Kristiania that you may not be able to find in many other places?  

– You will find Kristiania Professional College!
