Background

Scott Baker-Marflitt is course designer, course leader and senior lecturer for Music Business Management at Kristiania University College. Scott has worked in the music business for 20 plus years (and counting), since 2001 when fresh out of university he discovered his first successful band, The Futureheads (Warner Brothers Records), working initially with heavyweight artist management company, Big Life Management, in London. Varyingly, Scott has worked for (and ran) record labels, music publishers, operated as a tour manager and business development manager.

Scott continues to operate in the international music industry, as an artist manager for his own company, Pick & Mix Management, where he currently manages artists in the UK as well as Norway, varyingly signed to major and independent record labels and music publishers. Scott was included in Billboard Magazine's inaugural 'Power Players' feature in 2005, highlighting the top 30 entertainment executives under 30 years old. More recently, Scott has been commissioned to write a book about his experiences in the music industry by one of the world's oldest and most highly respected publishers, Routledge Press, in the UK. The book 'How Did You Manage That' is expected to be published in 2025.
