Background

Audny Chris Holsen is a trained director from the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre from 1995-1997. She has also studied law and theatre studies at the University of Oslo and attended the leadership program Kunstens Kvinner (Women in the Arts) organized by the Ministry of Culture in 2008-2009. Holsen has mainly worked as a director, but also as a playwright, set designer, translator, and dramaturg in the TV and theatre industry. She has directed over 40 hours of high-profile TV drama and around 50 theatre productions. Several of Holsen's productions have been nominated for the Hedda Award. As an educator and lecturer, Holsen has been associated with Innovation Norway, the Norwegian Actors' Center, and the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHIO) before she was hired in 2021 as an associate professor and program leader for the BA Acting program at Kristiania University College. Holsen's research interests lie in the areas of leadership in artistic processes, new stage texts, and staging. She has received the State Artist Grant multiple times and was awarded a prize for outstanding artistic research for the production Lenis Blikk at Kristiania's 110th-anniversary celebration. Holsen is also associated with the Executive Master in Leadership and the BA Scriptwriting program at Kristiania.
