Schøyen has also worked as a lecturer and mentor at the Norsk Barnebokinstitutt (Norwegian Institute for Children’s Books) in their dramatist program. He later served as an evaluator for both bachelor’s and master’s levels at NTNU and UiS.

Schøyen has also served as a jury member for the Ibsenprisen (Norwegian Ibsen Award) – the country’s playwright prize – representing the Norsk Teaterlederforening (Norwegian Association of Theater Managers). He currently sits on the board of Unge Viken Teater, Norway’s only theater exclusively dedicated to professional performances for young audiences.
