Background

Hanne Lien is a game design lecturer at Kristiania and the study program leader for the BA in Game Design. She teaches Game Design 1, Game Prototyping, System Design, Narrative Design, and Game Marketing at Westerdals Institute for Film and Media.

Lien has a Bachelor's degree in Game Design from NITH in Oslo, and since 2010 has worked to strengthen the game education in Norway. She established Norway's first game design line at Sunnhordland Folkehøgskule in 2010, and later expanded by starting Norway's first student company at a folk high school (which of course was a game company) as a regular part of the course for second-year scholarship recipients. She has worked as a community manager for PlayStation Norway, and has been involved in the marketing and launch of several major titles such as Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, and The Witcher 3. In addition, she has worked in game design, community management, and web development for companies such as FunCom, Start Select, and Telia.

Lien has written several articles on game culture and given a number of lectures and talks at various events in Norway.
