Background
David is a lecturer and coordinator for the Creativity, Innovation, and Business Development bachelor’s degree in Bergen and is working towards a Ph.D. at Solent University in Southampton. England. His research encompasses the areas of interior architecture and design, haptics, ergonomics, and the elderly’s relationship to objects in their physical environments. This understanding may better enable us to live independent, functional, and dignified lives for longer on our own. The goal of this research is to enable our environments to be more supportive to our activities of everyday life and thus be able to live at home for as long as possible.
David’s course “Ageing in Place” for interior architecture students in Oslo is primarily based around this research. In Bergen David teaches, among other subjects, Creativity and Innovation, Business Modelling and Entrepreneurial Strategy, New Business Start-ups, Product and Service Design, and Co-Creation.
David studied architecture and building technology at Carleton University and Algonquin College, both in Ottawa, Ontario. David is originally from Toronto but has resided in Bergen the past 26 years.
