Background
Debasish Ghose is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Economics, Innovation, and Technology at Kristiania University of Applied Sciences, Bergen, Norway. He earned his PhD in Information and Communication Technology from the University of Agder, Grimstad, Norway, in 2019, where his research focused on protocol design and performance evaluation for IoT networks.
His main research interests include applied AI/ML across various industrial sectors, health informatics, bioinformatics, federated learning, and protocol design for IoT networks. Dr. Ghose leads the Health Informatics and Innovation Lab (HII Lab) at Kristiania University of Applied Sciences and has (co)authored over 40 articles published in prestigious journals and reputed conference proceedings. He is also the internal project coordinator for the Sustainable AI Literacy in Higher Education through Multilateral Collaborations (SAIL-MC) project (2025–2028), funded by the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HKDIR).
Dr. Ghose regularly serves as a reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, and several other prestigious journals. He has also contributed to the technical program committees for major conferences, including IEEE GLOBECOM, IEEE ICC, and IEEE WCNC, among others.
