Note!

The publishing agreements with Taylor & Francis and Wiley have expired. Negotiations between Sikt and the publishers on renewal are ongoing.

Below is a complete overview of all active agreements with information about terms and conditions, and which journals are included. For questions and guidance, please contact biblioteket@kristiania.no.

There are two types of agreements:

The Publish and Read agreements provide coverage of the publication fee (APC – Article Processing Charge) in a selection of the respective publisher's hybrid journals, which are subscription-based journals where the publisher allows individual articles to be made openly available (Open Access) for a fee.

In addition, the publish and read agreements will often provide a discount on the publication fee in journals where open access is the only option, often referred to as open journals or gold journals. For publication in open access journals, employees at Kristiania University of Applied Sciences can apply for funding from the Publication Fund to cover the publication fee – read more about the Publication Fund and the application criteria.

Discount agreements only provide a percentage discount on publication fees in a selection of the publisher's hybrid and open access journals.

Important information

  1. Please note that not all publishers' journals are included in the agreements, and it is therefore important that you always check the title list to check whether the publication fee will be covered. If you are unsure, contact the library. Read more about why some journals are excluded from the agreement.
  2. In order to qualify for coverage of the publication fee or discount through the agreements, the employee must be affiliated with Kristiania University of Applied Sciences and be listed as the publications corresponding author. Author authorization is based on the email domain, so it is important that you enter your Kristiania email address in the submission portal.
  3. The journal must be an approved publication channel in the Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers.
  4. The article must be accepted by the publisher within the agreement period to be covered by the agreement.
  5. Publishing of books and book chapters is not included as part of the agreements.
  6. The Creative Commons-licenses (CC) allowed for open access publishing vary between publishers and may also vary between journals under the same publisher. Where possible, Kristiania recommends, in accordance with Plan S and the Research Council, to choose the CC BY-license.
