On this page you will find relevant information on your use of the library as an online student.
Access to campus libraries
You can access our campus libraries in Oslo and Bergen. This requires that you contact the reception on the campus you want access to and have a student card created. This card will also serve as a library card in the library.
For access to the library in Kvadraturen (Oslo), the reception in Kirkegata 24-26 is the nearest reception that issues student cards.
For access to the library in Hansaparken (Bergen), the reception at Kalfarveien 78 C issues student cards. NB. Remember to bring a valid ID.

Booking guidance
Guidance with a writing mentor
Guidance in academic writing can be booked through the Writing Center's order form. For booking digital guidance, select "Guide to assignment writing (Digital guidance)" in the booking form.
The digital guidance takes place over Teams. A link to the guide on Teams can be found in the confirmation email.

If you want help with literature searches, and citation use, you can book guidance with a librarian.
For ordering digital guidance, select " Kildehenvisning og litteratursøk (Digital veiledning) / Source reference and literature search (Digital guidance)" in the booking form.

Book guidance with a librarian
Requesting books and articles
If you live close to either Oslo or Bergen, and have the opportunity to pick up books or articles at one of our libraries, you can follow our general instructions for requesting books and articles.
If you are unable to pick up requested books at one of our libraries in Oslo or Bergen, then you can borrow books from Kristiania's collection remotely via one of your local libraries.
Note: the remote loan is intended for requesting supplementary literature and reading material.
Requesting articles
If you wish to reqeust articles that are not available through the library's digital collection, you can follow our instructions for requesting books and articles. Please note that requested articles are delivered on paper due to copyright restrictions.
Online students who are unable to pick up the requested articles copies at one of our libraries can receive a copy of the article at their home address. Please contact the library on biblioteket@kristiania.no or provide the desired delivery postal address as a comment in your request.
Change home library
Kristiania has three libraries: Kvadraturen (Oslo), Fjerdingen (Oslo) and Hansaparken (Bergen).
As a new student, you will automatically be assigned to the library in Kvadraturen (Oslo) as your home library. You can easily change this yourself by logging in to Studentweb and changing your home library to your preferred library.
