Studies without entrance exams

What does the documentation deadline mean?

The documentation deadline is the final date for submitting the necessary documents for admission. Remember that you are responsible for ensuring that we receive all the documentation we need from you.

What does rolling admissions mean?

It means that we provide study offers continuously as we receive applications.

What is a conditional offer?

It is a study offer with a condition. The offer is contingent on you meeting the admission requirements by the deadline. Deadline for submitting documents can be found on Mitt Kristiania.

If I accept the offer I've received, do I cancel my other applications?

No, your active applications at Kristiania will still be active. If you receive an offer for another study program, you have the option to accept it. In that case, you decline the initial offer you accepted.

What happens if I receive an offer from another educational institution in Norway?

Kristiania is not part of the Joint Admission Scheme. We have our own application portal. If you accept an offer from us, it will not affect applications at other schools.

Can I receive offers for more than one study program?

You can receive offers for up to three study programs at a time. However, you can only accept one offer.

Studies with entrance exams

Where can I find the entrance exam for my study?

Entrance exams will be available in November. You can find an overview of all entrance exams here. Note that the entrance exams are only available in Norwegian.

When can I submit my entrance exam?

From mid-January. You upload it on your application page on Mitt Kristiania.

Have you received my application?

You can check the application status on Mitt Kristiania. If the application is active, we have registered and received your application. We review your documents as you submit them.

How do I interpret the entrance exam?

Everything you read on the entrance exam can be interpreted freely! Well, except for file formats and deadlines. The purpose of the entrance exams is not to show that you are already an expert. We are curious about how you approach problems you might encounter in the study program. Show us who you are!

When will I receive a response to my application?

Final responses for studies with entrance exams are given in early July.

Will all my applications be considered?

You can have up to three active applications at a time. All active applications will be considered. You choose which applications to activate on My Kristiania.

How many spots are available?

Studies with entrance exams usually have smaller classes to create a good learning environment. Some studies have around 20 spots, while others have up to 60.

Master's degree

How do I calculate my grade point average?

We convert letter grades into numbers like this: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1. The grades are then weighted by the number of credit points. For example, if you have 30 credit points with a grade of B (numeric grade 4) and 30 credit points with a grade of D (numeric grade 2), the average will be C (numeric grade 3).

What are subject requirements?

If a study program has subject requirements, it means you must have a certain number of credit points in specific subjects from either high school or higher education. See the subject requirements for your master's program.

What is a motivation letter?

A motivation letter should include a presentation of yourself and your academic motivation for applying to the specific study program. Highlight your background and what you plan to do with the skills gained in the program! More informaation can be found on the study program page.

When do you review my documentation?

We review submitted documentation continuously. You will be notified by us when we have processed your application.

Do I cancel my other applications if I accept the offer I received?

No, all active applications at Kristiania will be considered regardless.
