She emphasises the importance of diversity, both in the tech industry and in technological development:
– Women often bring new perspectives to the table. We see that female researchers and entrepreneurs frequently focus on solutions with broad societal benefits, particularly in areas like health, education, and sustainability. This versatility is invaluable to the industry and society as a whole, she says.
From software security to artificial intelligence
Ramezanifarkhani has dedicated her career to data security, with a wide range of specialisations.
– My academic journey began with software security and has since encompassed everything from language-based security and vulnerability analysis to cryptography and various methods within information security, she explains.
Currently, Ramezanifarkhani works at the intersection of humans and computers and will be associated with a new, experience-based master’s programme in cyber security at Kristiania.
– My current research focuses on how we can develop secure technologies while taking human needs into account. It’s about creating solutions that are – not only – technically robust but also user-friendly and ethically sound, she says.
In addition to her research, Ramezanifarkhani supervises masters and doctoral students.
– It is incredibly rewarding to work with young, ambitious researchers. They often bring fresh perspectives, and together we explore new ways to address the security challenges of the future, she shares.
