Background

Considering the current geopolitical climate as regards to anti-gender politics and attacks on democratic principles and rights, another central ambition for the Group has always been to encourage increased collaboration and dialogue between Norwegian, Nordic, and international researchers, and political mobilizations in this field.

Seminars

The group organizes digital and location-based seminars addressing current research topics and projects under development, and the annual queer research symposium in June every year in connection to the pride month. See the latest call for paper here!

History

The Queer Research Group was established fall 2020 as a forum for academic discussions of theoretical, methodological, and ethical topics in the interdisciplinary field of queer and LGBTQ+ studies and queer theory. The group has hosted or cohosted a number of presentations at conferences, seminars, prides and other events, and has organized research collaborations, collaborations on publishing, funding, and other applications.

The Groups founder is Professor Elisabeth Lund Engebretsen at the University of Stavanger. (Link?)
