Project management practices in the creative industries (PMPCI): lessons on autonomy and value creation
- Project period: 2024
- Category: Basic Research
Description
The primary objective of this project is to help project managers and stakeholders increase value creation by facilitating individual creativity and autonomy. We investigate and identify effective but under-researched practices from across the creative industries, which are by definition driven by creativity and where autonomy is recognized as a key precondition for creativity and value creation. Secondary objectives are: 1) to improve our understanding of how autonomy affects value creation, 2) to better understand how resource scarcity, uncertainty, and ambiguous or unknown outcomes – conditions that in addition to autonomy are typically found in creative industries projects - impact project management, and 3) to advance knowledge of effective project management practices between and across the creative industries.
