Research

The department is not only a place for education but also a research environment. We host several research groups and artistic development projects such as Collaborative Media Arts (CoMA), EcoSystem, and PRISMA, all contributing to the development of new storytelling formats and exploring the role of media in society and culture. Projects like Writing the Writer exemplify how we combine artistic research with academic reflection to challenge and evolve the media landscape.

Research projects

  • "An exploration of truth vs.fiction in the biographical screenplay genre." The project focuses on the screenplay genre as a distinctive form of artistic practice and its subgenre, the historical/biographical drama. It explores how a biographical screenplay, through specific poetic tools such as incarnation and reenactment, can generate a unique kind of knowledge of its subject. The main artistic outcome will be a screenplay drama, based on Ibsen´s “chaotic years", 1856-1866.
