As societal and environmental challenges become more existential, so stakeholders have raised expectations as to the conduct and integrity of organizations. It is no longer enough for organizations to merely acknowledge the problems facing the world, investors, employees, partners, consumers and other stakeholders now believe that businesses should actively contribute to solving these problems by improving the quality of life and addressing environmental issues. How should companies respond to these pressures? They have to move beyond traditional Corporate Social Responsibility approaches and embed sustainability into the core of the business. Such conscientious businesses understand the tensions that can arise in the quest to balance different stakeholder needs, but they also work together with their ecosystems and customers to deliver transformative change.

In this course we will look at how companies embed sustainability and how they use it to guide their approaches to innovation, leadership and communication with their different internal and external stakeholders.

In taking this course the student will gain an in-depth understanding as to the challenges and opportunities involved in working with sustainability.
