Groups

The thesis should be competed either individually or in groups up to three students:

- Bachelor of Interior Architecture (BIN), Bachelor of Graphic Design (BGD) and Bachelor of Journalism (BJO) must be conducted individually. For writing in groups students must apply.

- Bachelor of creative marketing communications (BKM) must be conducted in group. For writing individually students must apply.

Application for group/individual assignment must be submitted by the deadline.

When submitting a group-based bachelor thesis, all group members must deliver a consent form confirming that:

the thesis is the group's own, and has not been submitted in any other context
all sources are accounted for in accordance with guidelines
bachelor's thesis is the result of equal effort from all group members
the group has the responsibility for the content

Violation of the provisions incorporated herein should be regarded as cheating.

Confidentiality

If the bachelor thesis is aimed to be kept confidential, students have to check for confidentiality in delivery and declaration form to accompany the thesis. Normally the confidentiality is given for one year. Students must insure and brand bachelor¿s front page with red print CONFIDENTIAL.

Project proposal 1

The student (s) shall submit project proposal 1 by the deadline. Project outline 1 shall include a brief reviews of the topic (s), background for the thesis, preliminary theory/sources, data collection method (research and development of ideas and information on the group composition (if group). Project proposal 1 constitute the basis for selection of the relevant supervisor.

Project proposal 2

Project proposal 2 is a refined and expanded version of the project proposal 1. The student (s) shall submit project proposal 2 within a deadline. Project proposal 2 will be used as a basis for further work on the content and structure of bachelor thesis: Proposal 2 should contain the following:

Presentation of theme and rationale for the chosen theme
Research-topic/question: The thesis should have a distinct and clear research topic/question. The topic for research may be a question that student (s) attempt to answer, or a hypothesis that student (s) will either test or develop, or a topic that will be investigated, and developed in a project format. Research¿ topic/question may deal with a relationship you want to explore (BKM), or it could be a description, coupled with character basis (BIN). In formulating the problem, it is important to pay attention to whether it is possible to answer it, if it is possible to find enough information about it, and how you intend to proceed in order to find answers to it.
Estimated delivery in practical part (what one would expect that the result of the practical part will contain)
Theory / Theory Review. Preliminary suggestions for relevant theory. A brief explanation of why proposed theory (s) may be relevant.
Method: Qualitative / quantitative or other methods, literature review and literature search, selection and data collection methods, and methods for developing ideas
Ethics and anonymity if the thesis requires. An example of this can be anonymous informants from qualitative in-depth interviews.

Frames

Project proposal 2 should be short and concise, 1200 words +/- 10% (reference list and schedule are additional). For design subjects (BIN, BGD), in addition to the written part, students must deliver visual support (for example drawings in BIN and BGD).

* Each field of study has developed separate template for project proposal 2. The templates are based on "content" and "frames" described above.
