The course will professionalize the student as a make-up and hairdesigner. Students will use their accumulated knowledge, communicate and convey their designs and ideas.

In this subject, the student works as key make-up and hair designer. They use and develop their technical and theoretical skills in practical projects, using their professional tools, techniques and expressions. Students use script as a tool in their own work, as well as location and other working conditions. The student collaborates with creative leaders and actors on artistic and visual concepts, and provides an overview of expressions in different genres and media. Students have a great responsibility for the projects. They must comply with deadlines, financial frameworks and human challenges.

The projects will be as realistic as possible. The projects can take place internally and externally.

The course contributes to enhancing competence in cooperation processes, procedures and high work requirements, as well as the student's ability to communicate and disseminate own suggestions and solutions. The practical work may include concerts, theater, photo shoot and shows.

Teaching alternates between project work, tutorials, supevision and own work. In the projects, the students are the main responsibility as a make-up and hair designer. Through this interdisciplinary work, students gain knowledge of lighting for film and stage, film photo, dramaturgy and interpretation. The work includes the use of varied sources, such as movies, television, theater shows, magazines, literature and visual arts.

Students meet key professionals who talk about work processes, planning, interpretations and artistic choices and about collaboration with other professional teams in a production.

Through study of characters in selected media, as well as artistic research in the field of make-up and hairdesign the student learns to make use of the experiences of others. In this course the student will take responsibility for their own work according to a comprehensive visual expression.
