In the course Basic Acting Techniques and Methods, the student will receive basic acting training. The student is introduced to Stanislavski’s acting method and learns to use their own creativity and imagination to build stage events alone and in collaboration with others.

Through assignments, improvisations and guidance, the student works to look for a role's psychophysical life and movements on stage. We work with stage space, body, voice, and interpretation. The student will acquire a work ethic based on the understanding of the high work requirements for actors, as well as on the ability to collaborate, share knowledge and respect for the contributions of others.

In the second semester, the student will start the basic introduction to stage work with text. The semester builds on the first semester with regards to training and skills. The student will be introduced to use of text in working with gestaltning and stage life. Word action is an essential concept and through the semester the student will work with different approaches and immersion in variations of use of text in stage life.

The student work builds form smaller to larger units of text. During the semester the student will learn to formulate goals and circumstances, find strategies to the goals and circumstances, explore expressions and situations on stage. Action, dialogue, tempo rhythm and listening are essential elements.

The course will include an independent artistic work.

The student will through the year acquire work ethics that builds on the understanding of the standards of the professional actor, the ability to collaboration, sharing of knowledge, and respect for the contribution of others.
