1. Compulsory practical training (individual): Compulsory attendance during the practical training period (internship, teaching and guidance).

Internship: Internship at a European organisation (minimum 70 % attendance)

Duration: 9 weeks

Attendance in the internship organisation is compulsory according to the hours specified in the course description. The work plan in the weeks of work placement is agreed between the organisation and the student. Approved absence must be documented. Absence is to be reported to the employer, and the course instructor keeps record of the student's absence. A medical certificate is required if the student is absent more than 3 days in a row. If the total absence amounts to more than 30 % of the internship period, the internship period will not be approved. The decision is made by the course instructor and the student supervisor. If the internship period is not approved, the student will have to complete a new internship period, or complete the same internship period before submitting the final assignment.

Compulsory practical training is conducted in accordance with the Guidelines for Chapter 3 Studies - with supplementary provisions for compulsory activity, and information given by the lecturer.

Compulsory practical training is to be carried out within the duration of the course and is registered as approved/not approved at least two weeks before the exam/period of exam.

Approved compulsory practical training grants permission to take exams. Not approved compulsory practical training results in the student’s withdrawal from the exam.

2. Compulsary attendance: 80 % attendance in class at Kristiania University College (week 2-7) is required.

The course coordinator will be able to use the opportunity to replace an unapproved participation with an alternative compulsory activity. Discontinuation of an alternative compulsory activity cannot exceed the time set for compulsory participation. Alternative compulsory activity shall aim to give the student an opportunity to document that he / she has otherwise achieved the learning that he / she missed due to the absence.
