Health Psychology and Mental Health Promotion  (HPMHPRG)  

This research group  focuses on developing and engaging in projects that concentrate on the intersection of behaviour and health conditions. 

Background

Research projects within this group are aimed at a wide range of topics, including examining how biological, social, and psychological factors influence people's choices about health and exploring factors connected with health promotion and prevention, recovering from different illnesses, or coping with chronic conditions.

The research group involves:

  • Research projects that aim to improve mental health sustainability and contribute to the development of the science of behaviour change interventions.
  • Researchers' interests and topics are understanding behaviour and developing interventions to improve health, examining the context of violence, and treating trauma and understanding of implementation options in the prevention of abuse of older adults.

FactArt - The Society Observes aims to develop a method for treating trauma in Ukrainian refugees at a group level.

Prevention of abuse of older adults in Norway (PAOAN) aims to shed light on the following research question: What options does Norway have to implement specific national laws and guidelines to address the prevention of older adult abuse as recommended in the Toronto Declaration?

Vanessa Nolasco Ferreira

Vanessa Nolasco Ferreira is associate professor in psychology and has a PhD in public health and science. Her research interests are violence, conflict, public health, social and political psychology. Vanessa is head of this research group.
